The Chesham and Amersham Conservative Association has selected Peter Fleet as their parliamentary candidate for the upcoming by-election.
Comprehensive school educated Peter Fleet spent a 30-year career with Ford, starting out as a graduate trainee and working his way up to become a Group Vice-President of the famous motor company.
Commenting on his selection, Peter Fleet said:
"It is an honour and privilege to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for Chesham and Amersham.
"I want to start by paying tribute to Dame Cheryl Gillan. Dame Cheryl was an exemplar for true public service and a trusted and much-loved champion for the interests of this constituency.
"Chesham and Amersham needs a local MP who will continue championing its needs just as Dame Cheryl did, and an MP who can work with this Conservative government to secure the investment and support that our towns and villages need as we recover and rebuild from the pandemic.
My priorities will be protecting our Green Belt and working with developers to ensure developments are on brownfield land, working with local businesses to see our high streets recover, mitigating the impact of HS2 and working with Thames Valley police to tackle anti-social behaviour."
