Bucks roads improvement programme which is now starting and due to run over summer and autumn. This is on top of the additional £2.3m grant from the government announced in 2023 budget.
Gareth Williams knows roads are the number one issue for local residents and now the frost and heavy rains are ending, the crews will be out fixing our roads.
Gareth said ‘We have all suffered terribly from the winter weather tearing up the roads. I was delighted to secure an extra £5m during the budget debate at council to help get our roads fixed. I know from speaking to people on the doorsteps that this is the number one issue locally and something I am determined to help resolve. In addition to investing more locally, we will keep lobbying government for more funding for our roads including compensation from HS2 for all the HGV traffic we endure.
We have a new contract at the council and pothole crews will be working seven days a week with the target of fixing 2,500 potholes, over double the number from last year.’
