Tim Butcher

Member of Buckinghamshire Council for Chalfont St Giles, Jordans, Seer Green and Coleshill Ward
  • Unitary Councillors

Tim Butcher and his partner Emma live in Chalfont St Giles. Tim has worked in the City of London's Insurance market as an underwriter for over 40 years, and has played his part in running a successful enterprise.  This has brought him into contact with many people from small businesses to quoted companies.  He understands the business community.  Tim believes that Buckinghamshire County Council must deliver the most efficient and effective services, as well as providing value for money. Tim was one of the driving forces behind the introduction of performance related pay for Bucks County Council employees.  He detests bureaucracy and red tape and hopes that you will continue to give him the opportunity to make a difference for the benefit of the local community.

As Chairman of the Chalfonts Local Area Forum, Tim has secured funds to be spent in the Chalfont St Giles Division, along with his Community Funds. In his spare time, Tim enjoys walking, golf and classic cars.  Tim is also a member of Lloyd's.

My priorities for Bucks are:

  • Getting our local roads fixed
  • Lobbying for more of Bucks County Council resources to be spent locally here
  • Making sure that we have the best local schools
  • Ensuring that HS2 Ltd contractors are held to account
  • Protecting the Green Belt

A Plan for the Next Four Years

  1. Invest at least another £50m in improving our roads and pavements
  2. Continue to prioritise safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults whilst providing care of our elderly who are unable to help themselves
  3. Improve people's lives and health, working closely with our local NHS
  4. Ensure all our children receive an excellent education
  5. Continue to cut overheads, increase income and maintain a balanced budget
